We went to see The Fan in Strathcona Park last night. It’s Odyssey Theatre’s 25th anniversary production.
The Fan is a big fat rollicking farce with lots of big, over-the-top personalities, humour and movement. It’s about romance, rivalries and rumours in a tiny Italian village in the 18th century.
This was a terrific way to spend […]

The Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) invited GC and me to another opening last week. The List is a one-woman play, about 75 minutes in length, about two mothers who are neighbours in a rural community. One of them is dead.
“I didn’t lay a finger on her,†the first woman says. Nor did she lift […]

Last night GC and I went to the opening night performance of They All Do It, a play produced by Odyssey Theatre.

GC and I won tickets to go see the advance screening of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland last night. (Thank you, Penguin Canada.)
Going for free is a treat, but it isn’t as easy as paying to see a movie. First there’s a lineup to get your pass converted to a ticket. Then there’s a lineup […]

I have a soft, sweet place in my heart for crepes. So when I heard about a new crepe restaurant in town from Nelly’s blog, we wasted no time checking it out.
The making of the crepe
Crepella’s – despite its unfortunate name – makes wonderfully yummy crepes. They use only fresh ingredients, and they […]

GC and I went to the Carnivale Lune Bleue at Hog’s Back on Wednesday night. It was a last-minute decision and we were late so we just got the general admission Midway tickets.
For the record, it’s not a very wheelchair accessible venue; we struggled a lot to maneuver my wheelchair around. To their credit, […]
