From Maks’ good friends Jadis and Jodie:
Dearest friends,
It is hard to find any right words to express the deep sorrow instilled from the passing of our beloved Maks. So many gifts of wonder he has brought to all our lives, from the joyful warmth of his smile and jokes, to the amazing art that he has shared with people all over the world, connecting us closer to one another.
Therefore we have felt that it would only be suiting in his honour to extend symbols of his creative, loving spirit in our own way by creating our own version of his “swapboxes”, our own Memory-boxes to put all over town in those special little places that otherwise go unnoticed, but that Maks had the gift of bringing to life. We hope that these boxes can shine light on some of the amazing dreams, thoughts, and memories we may have shared, or have yet to be shared by this beautiful soul.
You are all invited to join us at Jadis’s home
this Wednesday, October 5th, 2011
from 4-9pm
(email faeriejadis (at) gmail.com for address)
for public transit: take the 9 Hurdman from Rideau Centre
We would ask you to bring a box to decorate that reminds you of Maks, and any mementos or art supplies you find appropriate. However, we will have a few spare boxes as well as some limited painting & crafting supplies available.
A vegetarian chili & cornbread will be also provided.
With love, strength, and beautiful memories let us come together over some art and food, a night that Maks would truly be fond of.
All our love,
Jodie & Jadis

Note: This event is open to all of us who need an artistic outlet to say our farewells to maks. Please RSVP to faeriejadis (at) gmail.com, just so she’ll have an idea of how many people are coming.
I’m sorry I missed this perfect commemoration of Maks life and passion for art. He was a good soul.
