Things are pretty good here at Chez Zoom. I saw a career coach yesterday and I feel like everything’s going to work out just fine.
Meanwhile, I’m starting to really dig this unemployment thing. It’s amazing how much you can get done when you don’t have to go to work. (Not that I’ve actually done anything so far, but I could have.)
Okay. Since I’ve got some extra time on my hands, I’m going to have a contest. With prizes! For you!Contest
See this picture? If you’re the first person to leave a comment correctly identifying what it is or where it was taken, I’ll send you a surprise in the mail. (I have no idea what I’m going to send you – that’s how much of a surprise it is.)
(If you don’t like this contest, you can always enter the ESI’s Caption Contest instead. But I don’t think they have prizes or official contest rules or fine print or anything cool like that.)
Contest Rules and Fine Print
*This contest is open to all persons of any age and/or nationality and/or place of residence, except Zoom, members of Zoom’s immediate family, and Zoom employees. Winner might be required to answer a skill-testing question. The skill-testing question might be really really hard. The prize is not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded. Decisions of the contest judges, no matter how arbitrary or ludicrous, are final.
It looks like a rainy day picture of a koi fish.
Looks rippled glass. Just like patio furniture in my back yard. Why are you lurking around my back yard?
It looks like a windshield on a car, totally covered with ice. The type of ice that calls for the heavy-duty scraper…
I think it was shot in a shower. As for what it is… I will have to keep thinking.
The shot was taken at 1/800 of a second at f/2.8 and ISO 400. It was taken at 3:26pm on March 22nd.
The white light is not from an on-camera flash.
It is ice, on the pavement, reflected by a traffic light (now I know it might not be that but i wanted to be creative)
I think it’s Duncan trapped under the ice in a pond. Am I right?
I think its a traffic light hanging in front of a bright bit of window glass reflected in the Ottawa river.
It’s a picture of something you made in the class on precious metal clay.
Tempered glass shower door!
I think it’s the Eternal Flame on Parliament Hill.
It’s an apparition of the Virgin Mary!
p.s. I love your new banner. It tickles my brain every time I look at it…
It looks amazingly like the silver-coloured wrapping foil that I’ve taped to a piece of glass in a table in the bedroom here.
The foil is actually transparent and I was hoping that if I heated it with a blowdryer, the wrinkles would vanish and it would act like a 1-way mirror.
Then I could hang a proper mirror below it and create an infinite hole illusion.
But the blowdryer didn’t remove the wrinkles.
My entry: stretched but wrinkled wrapping foil
It’s a reflection of Duncan back-flipping acrobatically into the Ottawa River.
I know that fish. You got too much time on yer hands. Get a job!! Friggin’ slackers!!
Best wishes,
fl
Well, you’re all very creative and my picture is clearly more obscure than I imagined. If nobody gets it by 10:00 Thursday morning, I will post another photo clue.
(shy lurker tentatively de-lurking…) ummm…. it kind of reminds me of the fountain wall at the airport. that or a close up of the eternal flame fountain. although i do prefer the “reflection of Duncan back-flipping acrobatically into the Ottawa River” that robin suggested.
Duncan. In the conservatory. With a brass candlestick.
Duncan sitting on the window sill in the bathroom with the light behind him, refected on a shower door.
Swan reflection…or am I considered immediate family?
One of Zoom’s mixed media art projects — one that went wrong.
It likes a windshield in an ice storm ..the orange reflection
is maybe the sun or a refection of your orange coat
Actually, the EXIF data I listed above is probably wrong. EXIFviewer is a quirky Firefox add-on.
Maybe you were at a stained glass studio . . .
It’s a tail light or turn signal under a layer of ice.
I’m going to guess it’s a table top or a countertop
Is it the view of a car wash from inside the car?
