Recovery

Today my skull feels like a graveyard for spent headaches. (This is a dramatic improvement.)

  • ah poor you! i suppose you can’t eat, hun? i used to work with a physician who got migraines and swore by pepsi! just a thought.

(note: this not to be taken as medical advice, surely lol)

Glad you are feeling better! Do you know the cause of these things? Might it be a reaction to something? I just (finally) discovered I react to the oxalates in spinach leaves. I knew whenever I had spinach salad, I usually had a reaction but I thought it was germs or something. Now I am convinced it is oxalates. You learn something new every day!

Happy to read that you are on the mend. I hope this continues.

  • I think Raino is recommending Pepsi because it contains caffeine. Even though too much will sometimes cause a headache, if you drink something caffeinated at the first sign of a migraine it can constrict the blood vessels enough to stop it developing.

I often take my migraine medication (ergotamine) with half a glass of coke to give the meds a kick start. but don’t take the nurse’s advice without first consulting a doctor.

Really hope you’re feeling better soon Zoom

PS: I’ve lived with migraines for *gulp* decades. they have never been brought on by food before but just this year I started getting them if I ate lentils.

Sorry you’re feeling so shitty, hope it passes quickly.

  • You’ve obviously been thinking too hard, and making your brain hurt.
You need fingerpaints. And crayons. And a big roll of paper. Trace around Duncan and make life-size portraits. (If you put the paper on the floor, he’ll lay down on it to be traced. Trust me…)

Oh, ‘graveyard for spend headaches’ – I can so relate to that concept.

But there is nothing, NOTHING, NO THING better than post-migraine euphoria. I used to describe it as ‘the shell a head ache used to live in’.

Wonderful description of the after-a-week-of-headaches feeling. My doctor told me that the best cure for the headaches themselves is often Gatorade. It has the same chemical make-up as an IV and is a great way to rehydrate and get the necessary salts and minerals back into your system. I began keeping it on hand and it helped.

I’m glad your feeling better, if still shell like. Not pleasant. I can think of one being who was probably quite happy to have you at home in bed though. I hope he was comforting.
